My number one piece of advice is to dress appropriately to the weather. If you live in SoCal, well it's still 80 degrees. If you're in the Midwest, it's cooling down to 70s and 60s.

Mixing colors of similar hues is in right now, for example bright cobalt blue mixed with purple and emerald.

If your in a colder area, a cashmere scarf with a cardigan go really well together! Silk scarves are still beautiful to me, though.
